Rivanna Trails

Events

Trail maintenance work parties occur the second Saturday of each month from 9:00-12:00.

Our gathering point for work parties is at the RTF equipment shed at 2030 Morton Drive, near the Meadowcreek Gardens and behind Bodo's and the English Inn (see map). We usually meet at the tool shed at 8:45 and carpool to the work site, but contact the work party leader if you want to go directly to the project or plan on being late.

We have tools, but bring shears or clippers if you have them. Everyone is welcome! We are happy to have groups participate in our work parties, but please contact us ahead of time so that we can plan accordingly.

Due to rain, we've rescheduled the Monthly Hike to Sunday, and will now be leaving from the Rivanna River Company. The rain also means that we will be limited to the paved and improved sections of the trail, so not the exact routing we had planned. (But, look for another series of monthly hikes sometime in 2024!)

Because this walk has been rescheduled due to rain, advance registration is no longer required.

    • Date: Sunday, September 24 (during the Loop de'Ville Trailfest weekend), at 3:00 pm
    • Segment: the paved and improved trails in the vicinity of Free Bridge.
    • Distance: ~3-4 miles round-trip
    • Meeting Point: The Rivanna River Company is at 1518 E High St (behind the new Hogwaller Brewing). Parking is available along Riverdale Drive and in the Burnley-Moran Elementary school parking lot, across High Street
    • Finish: We'll end back at the RRC in time for an afternoon of music, food, and the opportunity to celebrate the Rivanna Trail and CAMBC's 20th anniversary with local beer, wine, and food available for purchase (thanks to the Wool Factory and Selvedge brewery).
