Rivanna Trails

Events

Trail maintenance work parties occur the second Saturday of each month from 9:00-12:00. 

Our gathering point for work parties is at the RTF equipment shed at 2030 Morton Drive, near the Meadowcreek Gardens and behind Bodo's and the English Inn (see map). We usually meet at the tool shed at 8:45 and carpool to the work site, but contact the work party leader if you want to go directly to the project or plan on being late.

We have tools, but bring shears or clippers if you have them. Everyone is welcome! We are happy to have groups participate in our work parties, but please contact us ahead of time so that we can plan accordingly.

    Are you interested in more safe spaces to walk, bike or run? Do you crave better access to the great outdoors? Are you looking for other people ready to jumpstart a year of positive local action? The 6th Annual Charlottesville / Albemarle Active Mobility Summit, organized by the Piedmont Environmental Council, is for you!

    No matter your background, all are welcome. This free event is hands-on and collaborative, centered on learning, active participation, and fellowship.

    This shindig is to celebrate all our amazing Trail Adopters, and to recruit new ones for 2026.

    If you like to get dirty and want to meet some cool people, and are willing to help us out with a few hours here and there to maintain the RT, this is your chance to learn more about becoming a trail adopters program. We will give you tools if needed - but more importantly a pint for your hard work!

  • Loop de'Ville 2026

    Join us on Sunday, September 27, for Loop de'Ville, our annual celebration of the Rivanna Trail! We'll have a group hike of the entire 21-mile loop, bike rides and runs, and family-friendly events.
