The Nature Conservancy is hosting an open house to share final plans for the Meadow Creek Restoration project. Work is slated to begin in early May on a 9,000-foot section of the creek extending from Hydraulic Road to the railroad culvert at the east end of Greenbrier Park. Displays will show the stream restoration design, and there will be a presentation to provide details on the project and what to expect during construction. (RTF hopes to keep the trail open throughout the project, but there may be times when certain segments will have to be closed.)

This is a unique opportunity to restore a significant length of a highly degraded stream right here in our own backyard. This is the Conservancy's biggest stream project to date, and one of the largest such urban projects underway in Virginia. For more information on the project, visit www.charlottesville.org/meadowcreek or contact Diane Frisbee, the project manager.
