September 24 is National Public Lands day, and to celebrate the Rivanna Trail's 30th anniversary we have a full weekend of events planned. (In addition to this walk, we're offering a hike of the full loop, and cycling and running options. Check the event overview for details of the other options.)

• Distance: ~ 2 miles round trip. We will walk from the Wool Factory, through Riverview Park and along the Rivanna River, and back.
  
• Hiking time: approximately 1-2 hours. This is family-friendly walk entirely on paved and level-dirt trails, suitable for strollers and kids on bikes.
  
• Start: The Wool Factory is located at 1837 Broadway St. (map below). We will leave from the RTF tent at east end of the property, next to the railway trestle, at 10:30AM.
• Finish: We'll end back at the Wool Factory by noon, in time for an afternoon of music, food, and the opportunity to celebrate the Rivanna Trail's 30th anniversary with local beer, wine, and food available for purchase (thanks to the Wool Factory and Selvedge brewery). 
• What to bring: comfortable walking shoes; clothes appropriate for the weather conditions, water, snacks, personal needs.
