Rivanna Trails

Loop de'Ville 2023 PosterNational Public Lands Day was Saturday, September 23, which meant the annual Loop de'Ville Trailfest! And, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Charlottesville Area Mountain Bike Club - the best friends the RT could have.

Severe weather forced us to cancel Saturday's events, but the awesome concert and other events were moved to Sunday, September 24. Even if we couldn’t be out on the trail on Saturday, we were able to celebrate together on Sunday!

In an effort to reach as many people as possible, we are committed to making the Loop de'Ville Trailfest free to all participants. Help us with this goal by making a donation of $15 - all donations and sponsorships beyond our expenses will go towards a youth trail program that we will be initiating in 2024.

Loop de'ville Monthly Walks

Join us every month for a free guided walk along the Rivanna Trail. Each month we will walk a different section of the RT as we gear up for the annual Loop de’Ville Trailfest. Help us grow our community by inviting a neighbor and signing up as a member!

Walks Schedule

NEXT WALK:  Sunday, December 17

Following our successful monthly hikes on the main RT loop throughout 2023, this month we'll be walking part of the River North Trail (a spur of the RT that runs from near Megan Court north through Pen Park, Dunlora, and Belvedere). This section is moderate to easy, and there are no creek crossings - but this is December, so check the weather report and dress accordingly. We'll leave from the parking lot at Pen Park at 10:00 am.

Registration is not required.

  • Date: Sunday, December 17, 10:00 am
  • Segment: River North Trail, starting in Pen Park
  • Distance: 3.0 miles round-trip
  • Meeting Point: Pen Park tennis courts; 1346 Pen Park Rd

This is the final guided walk of the year, but we'll be back in 2024 with a new series of monthly walks!
