Ragged Mountain Natural Area Work Party

  • 14 Jun 2014
  • Meet at RTF tool shed

Join the Rivanna Trail Foundation and the City of Charlottesville for a morning of trail work at the Ragged Mountain Natural Area. The Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Department is leading the effort to relocate trails during construction of the new dam.

Volunteers are needed for this effort, and you can help. If you are interested in working on this project, please contact Chris Gensic or call 434-970-3656 to sign up. No experience necessary. The City will provide tools and gloves, as well as snacks and water

Due to construction and safety requirements, volunteers are not allowed to access the park at the regular trailhead on Reservoir Road. Volunteers will meet at the RTF tool shed at 2030 Morton Drive and carpool from there, so it is important to RSVP in order to participate. Also, volunteers should wear boots or closed-toe shoes for safety while building the new trails.

Contact work party leader Chris Gensic with any questions.
